The Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina is best known for its exhibition "Sarajevo Under Siege." It uses everyday objects to show how people survived from 1992 to 1996: homemade stoves, improvised weapons, humanitarian aid packages, and letters and photos from ordinary families. The museum building itself is a striking 1960s Yugoslav modernist design, still marked by the war. Behind it, the Tito café is full of Yugoslav memorabilia.
