Why visit Kujundžiluk (Mostar Old Bazaar)?
Kujundžiluk is the old bazaar street that leads to the east side of the Old Bridge. It is named after the craftsmen (kujundžije) who once had their workshops here. Today it is a cobbled lane of small stone shops selling copper, jewelry, carpets and souvenirs, with views of the river between the buildings.
What to buy
- Copper: Engraved coffee sets (džezva, cups and tray), plates and trays. Look for pieces being made in the shop.
- Bosnian coffee: Ground coffee and a džezva make an easy gift.
- Rugs and kilims: Handwoven pieces in some of the older shops.
- Tip: Prices in the side lanes are often lower than on the main strip. Small discounts are normal when buying several items.
Food
The restaurants along the river below the bazaar serve ćevapi, grilled trout, stuffed vegetables (dolma) and Herzegovinian wine, and many have terraces facing the bridge.
