Why visit Kravica Waterfalls?

Kravica (also called Kravice) is a wide, curved wall of waterfalls on the Trebižat river, about 25 meters high and more than 100 meters across. The water falls into a green pool surrounded by trees, and in summer you can swim right up to the falls. It is often called the "Herzegovinian Plitvice," and it is one of the most visited places in the country.

Things to do

  • Swim: The pool below the falls is open for swimming in the warmer months, usually June to September.
  • Boat ride: Small boats take you close to the falls.
  • Picnic and relax: There are cafés, a restaurant and wooden platforms around the lake.
  • See it in spring: The falls are at their fullest in April and May, though the water is too cold for swimming.
